Procedural Requirements for filing an Industrial Design

INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS

Documentation required:
⦁ Industrial Design application form

⦁ Authorization of agent (duplicate)

⦁ Statutory declaration (duplicate, only file if applicant is not creator)

⦁ At least 4 views for each 3D design and at least 1 view for 2D designs ( submitted in duplicate, A4 sized Bristol board)

–          Each view should be on a separate page and clearly labelled.
–          Each view (drawing, tracing or picture) should not exceed 10 x 20 cm in dimension

Application procedure:
1)The industrial design application form must be filed along with the authorization of agent and the prescribed fee paid.
2) A 2 month grace period is given to submit the statutory declaration where such is required.
3) A formalities examination is then conducted 2 months after the application is initially received.
